| Dominoe, the Shih Tzu, came from a rescue organization. I was his third home in 18 months. When I went to meet him, he came out of the door with his tail wagging. I took one look, and it was love at first sight. He and I are well suited housemates. He sleeps when I sleep, eats when I eat, walks when I walk. He only barks in demand of a treat or at other dogs. He has his own toy basket and goes to daycare at my parents' house each day, and he seems happier since we have been doing this the last few years. The homemade diet seems to have helped his personality issues too. He was grumpy at times and seemed stressed when he was on dog food. I can't help but wonder if it is something like a child on too much sugar. Dominoe is a very happy dog, but he really doesn't care much for other dogs except for Wally. He adores Wally. However, the first time I brought him to meet Wally he introduced himself by running in and jumping on his big floppy ear. Wally backed up and looked at him, and that was it. They have been best friends ever since. When Wally had surgery once, Dominoe ran in and barked at him as if to say, "get up, get up." He seemed worried about his buddy. I think they are so bonded because they know they were both rescued. As for Dominoe's review of the meals and treats on this CD, Dominoe would also give them five stars. He is the most discriminating of the three. He won't eat just anything. He has to think it over and smell it and examine it first. |
